Back from Brazil....

So, I'm back. Rather than go on endlessly about the trip, I'll let a few of the pictures I took give you an idea (which would be appropriate because taking pictures was what I did for the vast majority of my waking hours on the trip..in all, I took over 3000 photos in four days). For those of you in Brazil, if you see yourself, drop me a comment and let me know...also if you'd like a copy of the photo send me an email I'd be happy to email one back to you.
The music in the video is The National's "Fake Empire."

P.S. The video is actually 3 and a half minutes, not 5, it goes on with dead air for that final bit... editing mistake, sorry.

Hey Ian.

I talked to you on the second day, and I am on one of those pictures. =)

Just want to say again how much your work and ideas inspirated me.

You have an amazing work. Congratulations.

See ya!

Man, Amazing photos. Congrats!
I'm also an artist and currently I'm living in São Paulo. Every single day this urban cosmopolitan "verve" catches me and shows me its power! It's like be able to see all the diversity in a single look, be able to see all the colors of the spectrum just seeing a single face in the streets! This 4 years in the city teached me something, even if the main color of the city is gray when looking above if we just take a glace at the people near you, can see how colorful and vibrand this city is. THe city of hidden colors! ;)

Come back more often, Mate. And congrats again for those pics.

Your paintings are stellar, don't get me wrong, but you could make a living as a photographer alone, and i mean that - keep it up, friend.

Dear Ian,
I've seen the pictures just TODAY! Well... We're not all bizarre... ahhahaah Man, I have lots and lots of good comments about you made by journalists and students...
I'll try to translate it all and send to you. Just have to say that it was a great pleasure to meet you and that you are a very tall and sweet man!
Oh! And I want this picture of mine (doing that scary face), can you sent it to me??

:)
Best Regards

Julia

Hy Ian, this is Vanessa. I have a design studio in Brazil called Colletivo. You used a picture of me and a friend in that video you played on your lecture at Pixel Show here in Brazil. I'd be so thankfull if you could send me that photo file and since I feel great respect for your work, I'd be also gratefull if you check out the work we do here (www.colletivo.com) and tell us your impressions.
Oh, I was almost forgetting an important thing, my e-mail is vanessa@colletivo.com and I can send you the photo frame by e-mail so you can find it easily. Thank you so much. Hope hearing from you soon
